PULSE RIFLE SIGHTING: DUKE
JimSmash Reader JEYL has found another PULSE RIFLE SIGHTING in the 'recent' GIJOE Figure DUKE - "Pursuit of Cobra" line. It has some lengthened barrels and an odd paintjob which "hides" the Pulse Rifle design abit. But there you go - another Aliens' Colonial Marines M-41A Pulse Rifle in plastic action-figure form!

I feel like I should get this figure just so my Grenadier can have the Pulse Rifle in one hand and the Smart Gun in the other. I have no idea how that's going to work out since it's physically impossible, but I am a firm believer in slings!
Also, found another one.

It appears the Grenadier was originally meant to be Destro due to the same body model being used (Shoulder Armor). Even the Smart Gun is more ALIENS accurate with it's ammo drum on the side and, if you look closely, the steady cam arm! Hasbro was going to go all out on this weapon to make it appear as accurate as it did in ALIENS! It's like they had a line of ALIENS figures all in prototype stages but decided to ditch the figures but keep the gun molds. Than someone realized "Hey, we can't just use those weapons as they are... put some mods on them. No one will notice." And notice we did!
Interesting. I think I prefer the armor design on the Grenediers, than on Destro.
I want ALIEN figures, damnit!!! Ones that look decent, have articulation (like GIJoe) and don't cost $200 each.
Dangit. Between this and the Minigun, I kinda want to make GI-Joe scaled Space Marines. Which means I need a Microman Alien Warrior for them to fight.
