DINOSAUR LEATHER

A groundbreaking collaboration between VML, Lab-Grown Leather Ltd., and The Organoid Company is on track to create the world’s first T. rex leather. By reconstructing the ancient dinosaur's fossilized remains, scientists plan to grow this extraordinary material in a lab using synthetic DNA and advanced tissue engineering.

The team will utilize preserved collagen from the T. rex’s skin, bones, and muscles to create a complete collagen sequence, which will then be transformed into DNA. This DNA will be introduced into Lab-Grown Leather’s cells, enabling them to cultivate new skin that mimics the texture and strength of traditional leather. The result will be a sustainable, biodegradable, cruelty-free alternative.

This innovative material could reshape the future of fashion, with the first luxury product expected by the end of 2025. Future applications may extend to automotive interiors and smart textiles, offering an eco-friendly alternative to standard leather without harming animals.
