HAHA!! I can only imagine his take on the modern one. I prefer the original in this bust, but I must say that I love the way Coipel draws Thor. He makes Thor look so thick and hardy that I think he may be one of the best Thor artists I've seen (waits for makers wrath). I have recently gone back and looked at my old simonson Thors and I blasphemously think Coipels may be better.

Blasphemy!!!!

But yes, I also dig the thick/hardy Coipel Thor.. although I think he's a bit wide... maybe make him a tad taller to thin him out SLIGHTLY. Overall, I really dig it.

I also love Gabriele Dell'Otto's Thor:

Did you pick up that huge awesome Coipel THOR POSTER? I'm about to post it in case you haven't seen

"Maker Wrath"? Does he get upset at silly stuff like this? :)

I love that pic! Reminds me of the Thor one shots where he is an unstoppable giant killing machine. He looks so vengeful and angry. I like to see him arrogant and bloodthirsty. He is a Viking god after all.
Walt Simonson said in a interview that he didn't think anyone who has lifted Mjolnir since Bill should have been able to do so. His take (which I totally agree with) is that Mjolnir was designed solely to slay enemies, most notably, giants. He said he felt like that being worthy of the hammer meant that you had to be wanting and willing to shed blood. If you weren't a killer you wouldn't be worthy in the context of Mjolnir.
