These are the top 8 comic stories I would like to see collected into OMNIBUS form....
and as a side note, I'd want them printed on the nice paper stock DC is currently using in their hardcover collections - not that ugly slick heavy stock Marvel uses (see Alan Moore's Swamp Thing HC Vol 1 for example of the paper stock)
* ORIGINAL X-FACTOR: The Simonson(s) series from the 80s. I would like to have it collect X-Factor #1-34. I chose #34 as the cutoff point because that is where Archangel's awesome story concludes.
* NEW X-MEN: CHILDHOOD'S END: This title really changed into a solid X-Book when writers Christ Yost & Craig Kyle came aboared with issue 20 . For the first time since, well X-Factor (above) there was an x-book coming out that felt like the glory days of Chris Claremont. Unfortunately the book ended with issue 46. But that makes for a nice packaged deal for an Omnibus edition. Although, I could do without the House of M issues.
* PETER DAVID'S X-FACTOR (2nd round): Peter David's current incarnation of X-Factor is fantastic. He's turned it into something diff't from the other X-Books; a mutant private eye investigation company with a Noir feel. PAD's Maddrox is perfect and I cannot get enough. While the book reads just fine on a monthy basis (a rare thing with today's Marvel), it does read better in "one sitting". So let's have volume 1 of "X-Factor Omnibus".
* BYRNE'S FANTASTIC FOUR: Second only to the initial Lee/Kirby run, John Byrne's Fantastic Four era is, well, fantastic! This definitely deserves to be Omnibied!
* WALT SIMONSONS' THOR: Can you think of another kickass Thor run on par with this one? Sorry, JMS' doesn't come close. For the simple, sole reason of giving us Beta Ray Bill, WS' run of Thor is classic and superb! Gimmie em all in 1-2 big ole Omnibus editions, please!
* CAPTAIN MARVEL: Man, I love Cosmic Marvel from the 60s & 70s. Captain Marvel is a great story with one of the best character developments around. His series lasted 62 issues, so you could split that in half over 2 Omnibus volumes.
* BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL/QUEST: While not the greatest Batman story ever told, it does have a warm spot in my heart. The overall IDEA is great and things actually happen (unlike many stories today). The character arcs are great and DC did what it set out to do: show people that Batman works best when he follows a code of ethics & morality (many want him to be more brutal, kill, etc). Not only did they make fans HATE the new brual Batman (Azrael) but fans DEMANDED the old Batman back... the same Batman, a few years prior, they were saying was outdated and lame. Kudos, DC! I'd like both "Knightfall" and "Knightquest" collected into 1 or 2 Omnibus.
** AKIRA: Ok, this one isn't really an Omnibus request.... I just want Graphitti Designs to print the missing SIXTH Hardcover. These were in color, which reprinted the colored versions by Marvel/Epic in the 80s. Beautiful books. My shelf screams in agony at the missing final volume in the set.

Have you seen the Thor Visionairies: Walt Simonson? Not sure if this would be the same thing you listed, but it looks pretty big.
And I loved Knightfall. I may be the only one who liked it enough to buy every issue of that "Azrael" series that came after it.
Does anyone remember which FF issue Bryne did where he didn't include any traditional comic book sound effects? (KA-BOOOM!!, BLAMMO!, etc.) He wanted readers to use their imagination for once. That was a nice touch.
His run on that title was a lot of fun. So was his run on Alpha Flight, even if he stole character names and story titles from Doctor Who. ;) I think he did it on an issue of FF, as well.
Marvel has released 3 trade paperbacks of Walt Simonson's THOR run.... Graphitti released the 1st volume in Hardcover form, too (which I have, yay!). I'd like his entire run into one single Omnibus.
You do not stand alone... I, too, bought Azrael's solo series.
