JIM'S BEST OF 2025

I took a break from Comics (and Movies/TV) in 2020 but have slowly been creeping back into things.

Here are some things I liked in 2025:

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN

This book is fantastic!

ALIEN VS CAPTAIN AMERICA

Set in WWII, this is a non-continuity mini-series and no one is safe!
The first two issues are out now and I'm really enjoying it.

STAR WARS : ANDOR - SEASON 2

If you liked Season 1 and/or 'Rogue One', this was right up your alley! High drama and political intrigue. I absolutely loved this show!

TIRES - SEASON 2

This show cracked me up.

LACUNA COIL - SLEEPLESS EMPIRE

ARCH ENEMY - BLOOD DYNASTY
Sadly, Alissa and AE recently parted ways.

BATTLE BEAST - STEELBOUND

TESTAMENT - PARA BELLUM

DEFTONES - PRIVATE MUSIC

ALLEGAEON – THE OSSUARY LENS

RUNNER-UPS PART 1:

I didn't get a chance to finish these mini-series, so I didn't feel comfortable giving it my total stamp of approval. But what I did read was fantastic!

----------------------------

RUNNER-UPS PART 2:

These were good but not 100% great IMO:

ABSOLUTE BATMAN

The first few issues are fun and I can recommend the first tpb. However, it quickly does what most Scott Snyder comics do - become silly fan fiction written by a 12 yr old.

ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN

The flashbacks to Krypton during the first 5-6 issues are great.
Everything else is completely forgettable.

Chris Condon's Green Arrow run.

Red Hood #1

The writing was great, but the art was really cool.
Sadly, this title was cancelled after the first issue.
It would be nice to continue it with a new writer.

Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora's Superman run.

SUPERMAN (2025)

I loved numerous aspects along the way, but overall not Gunn's best.
I'd definitely watch a sequel!

As a PREDATOR movie, this was awful. But if you take a young Klingon and put him into the CROODS world, you get a highly entertaining action/adventure romp for the entire family. It's worth a viewing, but do NOT think you're getting a PREDATOR (first movie) type of film. It sits nicely in this new Predator franchise we're getting by Dan Trachtenberg the director, who did 'Prey' and 'Predator: Killer of Killers'.

BUGONIA

Oh man, this movie was bonkers. It's a remake of the Korean film 'Save the Green Planet'. I really enjoyed the performances by Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and the newly introduced Aidan Delbis! I almost put this at the top.

ALIEN: EARTH - SEASON 1

'Alien: Earth' had cool aspects, but the Alien stuff was mostly lame. Mostly.
