Try as I might, I simply cannot see Hayden under the helmet when I re-watch the Original Trilogy. Perhaps younger generations, who grew up on the Prequels first, are able to do so.
I blame the failure (IMO) of properly portraying Anakin's seduction to the Dark Side.
In ROTS, it's like a switch. Click --> Evil.
