The Space Jockey is fucking awesome. I wish we could see them in 'Prometheus', but it appears(?) they aren't super cool giant giger creatures, but instead just giant human-looking-bald-dudes who just happen to wear super cool looking space suits. My [current] thoughts on 'Prometheus' coming soon....

what I think bothers me is the fact the the original space jockey is so freaking huge and the one in the trailer looks...well...small...i just hope and pray that the scene with the guy walking toward the space jockey seat is a scene that is not in the final film or he is a thirteen foot tall humanoid.
i was scrolling through the images and was sorta confused by the shots of the Alien being lowered from the celing just before Harry Dean Stanton bites it. The tail looks like its growing out of its groin...
...one more thing. Last night I reread Giger's Alien. In the afterward James Cowan describes Giger as a Promethean fantasist...
THE less said about HUMANS in a origin flick about the jockey the better ..
im praying it doesnt end up like RESSURECTION >__> (CRAPian 4)
cus if we could make a GAJILLION DOLLAR MOVIE based on blue smurfs (stolen from multiple sources) and GET AWAY WITH IT , we could make a scifi movie about the jockey and his ORIGIN with out HUMANS .. OR at the very least have it end like 5 minutes before the colony of THAT PLANET .(like they did in SW3)
this ....this is gonna be a 1h 30 min flick with little focus on the DRIVER.

Yeah, I've seen that picture... I believe it was done so to get a shot... the tail didn't like to stay on the body while in that position/angle. The shot itself is never in the film.
I know it's supposed to be " Scott's" original vision... But from what I've seen and read ( hopefully it was a fake )
I'm really less than enthused about this film. I'll wait and see, but the plot and premise just seem.......I don't know....unimaginative,.....lackluster.....eeeeehhhh
" that's where your going with it ?"
I've been considering for some time that that the Jockey species swell when they die.
see Prometheus, mate. It already came out in the UK. You all are far from what it really is.
Cool. I'm going to see it Saturday night (6/9/12). I hope my fears are not realized and I'm happy with the Space Jockeys - it & the whole Derelict Ship was my fav part of 'Alien'.
My fears were realized. Dammit. :(
